Routes for biking

Many of our guests are nature and bike lovers. In addition to housing the bikes in a protected place, we have chosen three routes in the area that deserve to be discovered.

Rincine “Bike Park”

The forests of Rincine are closed to traffic and are a real paradise for bike lovers. The main access point to the area is the Rincine Business Centre in Londa via state road 556.

Forest roads and paths develop for dozens of kilometres and give rise to different itineraries. Not all of them, however, can be covered entirely by bike, in fact it may be necessary to go on foot for some stretches.

The Mountain Community that manages the area offers several itineraries. By clicking on the image below, you will be redirected to a page with various routes.

The Trails are suitable for all types of mountain bikes, locals recommend the Enduro and Downhill to have fun in safety but also the All Mountain are suitable to make the trails with no worries.

Reggello, a ring between churches and castles

This route is entirely by road. It starts from Santellero, at the crossroads on State Road 70 a few steps from the village station, and touches several villages and hamlets: Donnini, Pitiana, San Donato a Fronzano, Bonsi, Pietrapiana, Cancelli, Montanino, Prulli, Leccio and then back to the starting point.

This tour offers some points of interest: for example Villa Guicciardini in Pieve di S. Pietro Pitiana, the Castle of Bonsi, built in the Middle Ages but renovated in the neo-Gothic period, and, after the castle, the church of S. Agata in Arfoli.

Particular attention should be paid to the historic centre of Reggello with its ancient market characterized by its magnificent loggia. Here you can also get water.

Last but not least, continuing towards Leccio, on the way back, the castle of Sammezzano overlooking the landscape with all its beauty.

The route is about 33 km long with a difference in height of about 564 meters.

To get water you can stop at Donnini, San Donato in Fronzano, Reggello, Cascia, Montanino and Leccio.

Pay attention to the descents because the asphalt has irregularities.

Riding through the Seven Bridges

This route touches some of the stages of the tour here next to the town of Reggello and the town of Cascia. However, then continues southeast to Pian di Sco and then, after about 5 km, reaches Castelfranco di Sopra, the old town is worth a visit, as well as the nearby Abbey of Soffena.

Next stop is Loro Ciuffenna, about 10 km away. Here it is worth stopping on the bridge from where you can admire a landscape in the style of "Lord of the Rings" in fact very reminiscent of Rivendell, home of the Elves.

From Loro Ciuffenna, if you want to make a short stop, you can reach, 1.5 km away, Pieve di Gròpina, a sacred building of the Romanesque period very impressive.

The tour then continues towards San Giustino Valdarno and Castiglion Fibocchi and then crosses the town of Ponte and Buriano.

Here you can stop in the equipped park along the Arno. The particularity of the place is the medieval bridge portraited by Leonardo in his most famous painting, the Mona Lisa.

If you love the climb now is your time, even if the road is not the easiest and safest, in fact from here riding another 10 km you can reach Arezzo where you can enjoy a historic center of all respect.
